it's the freakin' weekend! i hope everyone had an amazing fourth of july holiday. anyway, i wanted to share that one of the many reasons why i love living here in new england is the all year round supply of seafood that we can take advantage of. however, i feel as though it's 10 times better in the summer while sitting out on a rooftop or patio with a nice refreshing cocktail in hand and the skyline of boston right in front of you.
pier 6 in charlestown opened its doors in the late summer of 2013. with stunning views of the harbor and the city skyline, it's definitely a go-to spot this summer for bites and cocktails with friends. they also recently opened up their sister restaurant literally right across the water in east boston, called reelhouse. both restaurants offer amazing views of the city and seafood and sips that are to die for.
i had the pleasure of experiencing both restaurants in one night with some of boston's social media gurus and nesn's the dining playbook's jenny johnson. we started off the night at pier 6 for cocktails and apps and lots of picture taking, of course. we then took the water taxi across the harbor to reelhouse and took in brooklyn-like views of boston. we proceeded with more sips and bites and, you guessed it, pictures! be sure to check both of these restaurants out! i definitely recommend it and a must go-to on you weekends off.
until next time, gang!
