I enjoy shopping. Whether it's for clothes, shoes, a pack of gum at Target, a gift for a friend, you name it! You can say that I pretty much enjoy wasting my money on things I don't need! Keyword: NEED. However, what I do need, well what we all need, is food! Brian and I have been going grocery shopping every week for shit to stuff our faces with!
The thing about grocery shopping is that it saves money. It also saves you the hassle and headache of trying to figure out what to have for lunch. Let me tell you something, prior to meal prepping with Bri, I would dish out $10 to $15 a day on lunch alone. That's about $75 a week, that we now spend pretty much for the both of us for breakfast, snacks, and lunch!
Another thing about cooking your own meals is that only YOU know what's exactly YOU put in it. You're more aware of what you're eating. It's also 100% guaranteed that no one will spit in your food or you will find a strand of hair lingering around! Just saying!
Here are some of my must-haves in my grocery list:
- Brown rice
- Chicken/ salmon/ shrimp
- Mixed greens (arugula, chard, spinach, kale)
- Red vinegar
- Multi-grain sandwich things
- Peanut butter
- Romaine lettuce
- Asparagi (that's plural for asparagus, ok, maybe not! I got it from the Facebook movie!)
- Lemons (to get my Beyonce on!)
Brian and I have been shopping at BJ's to purchase things in bulk since we're shopping for the two of us. We've also been obsessed with this cute, local food market in Watertown called Russo's. It's seriously the cutest place ever! They specialize in fresh, fine quality, local and organic products. Their pesto sauce is amazing! Anyways, I think Brian's overcooking the salmon so ta ta for now! I'll be sure to start blogging about my favorite and easy recipes!
